For our family day, we went on a walking safari at Nairobi National Park. Nairobi National Park is right on the southern edge of the city. Nairobi is the only capitol in the world that has a national park bordering it. It harbors many awesome African animals.
The walking safari portion is like a zoo. There is one big difference, though. At the safari, there are guides who work there, who walk around with you. They will even let you get close to the animals. One of the guides got the lioness close to the fence and we got to interact with her up close.
We even got to get into the habitat with the cheetahs! That was absolutely awesome. The kids had a great time. It was an experience I won’t forget.
